In The Schedule

Such an array of links for you all this week - take a moment and schedule these into your weekend in-between watching the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.

+ Taking a leaf from all things sporty at the moment, this editorial from Australian Vogue covers all things Olympic, sportif, and energising - albeit rather fashionably and without sweating it seems!

+  Speaking of Olympics, an Olympic themed party and range of t-shirts from Karl Lagerfeld at Selfridges - who said the man has no sense of humour... the more I hear from him the more I like him - KL as cartoon character?  Too Funny.  Via Fashionologie.

+ The gorgeous Ines de la Fressange and her interview at Into The Gloss - on knowing, on learning, on accepting yourself and your individuality.  Quite refreshing.

+ Does wisdom come with age?  Yes, says Dame of the British Empire, Vivienne Westwood in this interesting interview with Tim Blanks at Interview Magazine.  Gosh, she's so with it at the tender age of 71!  I think she is amazing.

+ So inspired by the above image of artist/designer Rachel Castle's tool box, that I spent yesterday in the Art shop (again!).  We take a peek inside Rachel's studio and process, via Design Sponge here.

+  Then I found this exquisite looking silk scarf available in limited edition, at Safari Living by designers Carnovsky (RGB series).  *Wallpaper magazine announces best designers across several categories and Carnovsky won the title for Best Wallpaper.  This print process works by overlapping red, green, blue single layers and then projected through a light source bringing to life patterns and image within.  Just gorgeous I think and definitely wearable art.

+  And, finally today I had a lovely day out at the Heide Museum of Modern Art over at Templestowe in Melbourne's east.  It was pouring rain outside, but with a quickened pace and our trusted umbrellas, we made our way into the serene gallery space indoors.  The first thing that caught my eye was fantastic work of Louise Saxton and her exhibition titled, 'Sanctuary'.  The pictures don't do this exhibition justice; but up close Louise has deconstructed and re-worked discarded textiles with a beautiful mix of colour, texture, lace and beadwork, in an array of Australian animals.  The exhibition is only on for another week, but if you're a textile fan and you can get there, I highly recommend it!

PS:  Who would not invite Isabella Rossellini to a party?  Ah,... hello... it's Isabella!   This fabulous documentary by photographer Timothy Greenfield Sanders was shot after 2 days spent photographing 'the original supermodels' - Marisa Berenson, Jerry Hall, Isabella Rossellini, Marie Helvin, Christie Brinkley,  ... elegant, stylish, beautiful and working the camera like it was yesterday.  They talk about life after modelling, confidence, beauty, popularity and growing older.  Seriously, these ladies are still absolutely stunning and interesting, why does the issue of growing old have to be brought up time and again?

Enjoy your weekend and may your team win!
