In The Schedule

This week I've welcomed family from afar, I've farewelled family nearby, and I've treasured family that I haven't seen in a while.  It's been a journey.   Here are this weeks links from afar, nearby and treasured -

Acne Peplum Cropped jacket

Balenciaga Indigo & Black Denim pants

Charlotte Olympia Cat court shoes

+ Purple mag gives us an edit of current must haves for any respectable lass - I'll take the Balenciaga Indigo & Black denim pants, Acne peplum cropped jacket and Charlotte Olympia cat shoes in a size 37 thanks.  More special picks via Purple mag here.

Alberta Ferretti / Band of Outsiders / Carven
Preen / Celine / Altuzarra
Carven / Altuzarra / Jason Wu
Stella McCartney / Peter Pilotto / Prabal Gurung

+ Resort Trending - just remember these buzz words ... Lacey, One-piece, Culottes, Olympics/sporty, Transparency, Ruffles, Prints, Cups, Bejewelled Collars, Tropical, Electric Boho and Peplums - there now your wardrobe is covered!  Good  luck - The Cut gives us a 'cut' of the 12 biggest trends of Resort 2013 here. '

+  Some gorgeous inspiration from Stylist Aaron Hom above, an interview and more images over at Design Elements blog - I love the image on the left - tres chic!

From Jackie Onassis to current day Gwyneth Paltrow

+  Can it be the 50years anniversary of the mini already?  Harpers Bazaar celebrates a fashion style that ebbs and flows, that is embraced and celebrated with this homage here.

+ Umm, err...  yes just a gratuitous shot of a handsome cool dude in Milan somewhere ---.. I can't remember the details ... oops, concentrate, concentrate - Scott Schumann covers the streets during this week's Menswear shows here...

Nicole in Emilio Pucci/ Ph Alex Lubomorski
via

+ Nicole Kidman in a 'screen test' filmed by Lynn Hirschberg, covering topics such as acting methods, why she loves it, who inspired her, and never wanting to be governed by fear! - Bravo girl.  More subjects include Karlie Kloss, George Clooney, Clive Owen, Charlize Theron.. and loads more at W Mag.  I love the way Nicole still has that dorky laugh - very natural.

+  Feeling a little handy over the weekend, well not try your hand at these DIY cement lacey votives - so simple, so cute!  Via SayYesToHoboken here.

Eva Marie Saint by Philppe Halsman

+ Who hasn't seem some of these iconic images taken by portrait photographer Philippe Halsman of celebrities in  'jump' mode.  In 1954 Philippe took a photo of his wife and noticed that whilst mid-air the subject didn't or couldn't cling onto their 'camera face' so easily- the result, a project over several years photographing subjects jumping.  Subjects range from The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Jean Seberg, Audrey Hepburn and Salvador Dali.  Images are available for purchase via Laurence Miller Gallery here and more details of the project via here.

Hope your weekend is spent with loved ones near and far.
x

Helen, it's wonderful that you spent some quality time with your family.
As for the links, all great. I very much like those first two illustrations; I am thinking of ways to adopt something for my home from those two beautiful rooms designed by Aaron Hom and that Eva Marie Saint photo, amazing! Off to check more about Philippe Halsman photographs.
I wish you a wonderful weekend spent in the company of your loved ones! xo

These are your illustrations, right? They're beautiful.

Love the styling by Hom to the left. L.o.v.e.i.t. And I love the jumping photographs. I had seen some of them before but not nearly all. Thanks for the link.

Resort 2013 seems so far away. Remind me of those keywords in a year, okay? ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend!
