Behind The Scenes - Atelier

Ever wondered what it would be like to have a dress made especially for you?

The excitement that goes into seeing a sketch and ideas come alive in front of your very eyes each week as you meet with a seamstress and/or designer that pins the form to your body, toile first then a gorgeous heavy silk or light as air chiffon?

It's a unique creative process that is exciting equally for the designer/dressmaker and that of the couture client.

Let's step it up a notch...

Imagine being able to view the process from within the walls of a historical fashion house? ...

Well you can take a peek into the Atelier of fashion house Dior and see that very process come to life through the eyes of Marion Cotillard as the face of Lady Dior.

Dior has been busy filming seven episodes which show the magical process of a couture gown - sketch, idea, pining, fitting, and all the particular bits in between as we follow Marion around town and indeed around the world giving us an insight in to Dior's history.  Just having the opportunity to sight the Atelier and the many talented seamstresses is exciting enough for me!

The episodes will be online via the Dior website every two weeks until December.  Take a look at the first episode here - you'll love it!  (One complaint - it's not long enough!!)

I know I'll be scheduling in the updates on my calendar...

A behind the scene process is always a treat to watch.
Agree, it's not long enough. But it's worth to visit.

I had my wedding dress custom-made. :)
I love Marion and everything taking place behind the scenes of a fashion house, so I enjoyed the video very much. I loved that printed tee Marion was wearing as well. :)
