Herringbone

Although the spring buds are only just peeping from the bare branches over here, it's still coat wearing season.

Whether a bright pop of red or neon, a neutral black, something oversized, ankle-grazing, belted or asymmetrical, an overcoat is necessary for the cold winter months when you're travelling to and from work and standing in the wind.

For me, I can't go past something textured, a herringbone weave, maybe a boucle, a thick worsted woollen in an old school charcoal - something that sings of the 60's.

Just like this gorgeous coat sported by Miranda Kerr in Vogue UK's September issue.

Okay, so I think I'd need more layers underneath...

I would love to have a herringbone coat in my wardrobe. I tried to find one last autumn but within my price range there was always something that bothered me so I decided not to comprise, rather just wait.

I think I will also go for more layers underneath ;-)
