Tom Ford , Spring 2012

No photographers, no twittering, no mobile pictures... this range of Spring 2012 pieces were shown to a small gathering of press and buyers in semi private in London.  Tom Ford imposed this ban so that, by his thinking, no-one will be bored by the overexposed pics from runway reviews before the range hits the stores.  He's going back to old-fashioned way of doing things, (I like that).

Classic clothes are his aim - things that will stay in your wardrobe for a while.  The first thing I thought of was a very YSL look - and he agrees, because if you recall when he finished up designing for women last time around he was at YSL.

The first dress, sheer, flouncy, flirty; the white pantsuit in the third pic, bold, sexy and masculine at the same time - quintessential YSL,... and now maybe, foundations for a quintessential Tom Ford style.?

Love this range, especially the black and white dress and the white suit. Very classical yet on trend and funky. Tom Ford epitomises cool.

I totally agree with the way he chose to present his collection. I couldn't help noticing the blouse in the second photo, which has clear influences from our traditional Romanian blouse. I would like to know more about the inspiration for this collection. :)

I like his style but I would like him even more if he sent me an invitation to his private shows!
