A little backstage - Donna Karan

I just love these images from photographer Jamie Beck over at From Me To You, of Donna Karan's recent Spring 2013 show.

We were having a discussion last week about backstage vs front and centre at a fashion show... and having spent a few years dressing models for shows way back when I was working for a grand department store, I think I can say that the excitement and buzz of backstage trumps sitting out in the audience any day.  But that's just me.

I prefer to see something in its raw state, all the separate components coming together and styling a look and feel the fabrics myself, get the first view and all that ... but I certainly can appreciate it when the spotlight shines out front, the musics starts and the show starts rolling - magic happens.

Take a look below, and click back here to see some photos of the front of house runway also.  It made my day, I hope it does the same for you.

I totally agree, I would always choose the backstage over the front row. A garment is given new life when you style it. And I think I would have goose bumps when the music started.
