Home Style... Renovated Edwardian, Melbourne

Designed by Whiting Architects, this old Edwardian has been spruced up, simplified and brought into modernity with clean lines and an elegant, subtle palette.

Simple touches of light wood, white walls, natural light and fabulous tiles in the bathroom all serve to make this a live-able, family home.

Being in a central location as Albert Park means you are a stones throw from the city on one side and the beach on the other.  Designer touches are dotted throughout,  (Muuto wall dots, Artemide lights), great artwork (love that Minnie Pwerle in the study area), dark stained floors, whilst keeping a sympathetic eye on extending a gracious Edwardian double fronted house from the front.

I love the kitchen space too with a clever window situated above the bench area giving a low line view of the what looks like, a mezzanine above.

My husband likes it because there is a bicycle in the living area ... no that doesn't mean you can keep your bike in our hallway!

Albert Park is such a lovely part of the world…just around the corner from the fabulous South Melbourne market….this is quite delightful… a charming mix of old and new.

I do love the bicycle decoration idea. Although it's not at all practical, I keep thinking of how nice it would look keeping my bike in the entrance hallway. :)
