In The Schedule

I'm starting to fill my calendar up with pre xmas catch ups and events - already... but before I let the year get away in a flash, I'm still finding great links to share each week.

Here are this week's goodies...

+  Model Isabeli Fontana smoulders in this editorial for Schon #19 photographed by Gustavo Zylbesztajn - capturing a sensual Anouk Aimee in the early 60's with that classic retro hair-do and lingering gaze. More images here via FGR.

+  Celebrating their 60 year anniversary the label Chloe, founded by Gaby Aghion has developed Chloe Attitudes, 'The Alphabet',  breaking down the house's oeuvre through 26 letters of the alphabet.  Featuring short films, archives, advertising campaigns and a beautiful 'lightness of being' in their clothes from the 50's to today.  There is a fabulous account of when Karl Lagerfeld appeared on the scene and was hired by Gaby in the 70's as retold by a translator.   Could the young German designer understand the french Chloe aesthetic?   Explore the website here.

+ Celebrating fashion through Impressionism is a new exhibition currently on at the Musee D'Orsay (my favourite Paris gallery!) ... if only I was scheduling a trip next week!  Via Vogue fr

+  Wearing a lab coat and white gloves, Tilda Swinton took part in a special exhibit of two centuries of fashion, titled 'The Impossible Wardrobe' last month in Paris.  Featuring Tilda carefully caressing and showing off wares from a tailcoat worn by Napoleon to a Paco Rabanne dress worn by Brigitte Bardot to Elsa Schiaparelli designed gloves with built in gold talons (grrr), she manages to bring to life the clothes that, if they could talk, would no doubt give us an account of numerous festivities, indulgences, bonhomie and tragedy.  I love Tilda!  More images via Style.com here.

+ I so love this fabulous bathroom, part of a 19th century home in London - note the whimsy of the Fornasetti bowl above the richness of that marble and the steel paned doors and windows throughout are just beautiful!  More images here via House to Home.

+ No doubt you all, like myself, have been enjoying the current Pardon My French episodes by Garance Dore... I look forward to them now, eagerly devouring all insider tips and tricks and behind the scenes access videos that makes me feel like I'm her partner in crime and right there with Garance's team!  (I wish...)  well my recent favourite is a preview at Valentino that Garance was invited to with Anna Dello Russo.   If you haven't seen it, check it out here.

+  And finally, what do Marilyn Monroe, Carole Bouquet & Brad Pitt have in common... they can all lay claim to being the face of Chanel No. 5 fragrance.  Yes really!  ... Will Brad be able to crack the 'formula for the feminine eternal'... only time will tell.   What do you think?   Watch this video of the history of the classic and timeless fragrance put together with this montage of images and archives of the venerable house of Madame Coco Chanel.

Enjoy your weekend friends, I'm off to make pizza dough for tonight's dinner!...x

I love those cinematic editorials (big surprise, right). The Chloe collection was beautiful, really one of my favourites. As for Brad Pitt as the face of Chanel, he's not my kind of handsome man, but if you were to ask me who I would have picked, I really couldn't say. Have a lovely weekend, Helen!
