Perfect time for a holiday...Spain

Located in Tierra de Barros, Spain, Convento de la Parra invites you into the quiet and calm.  This ex-convent has been renovated to accommodate the traveller seeking calm and relaxation in an environment that has been pared down to reveal natural surroundings and an opportunity to revive the senses.

A quiet simplicity is evident from these photos and the calming atmosphere of a past life imbue the current incarnation.  White-washed stone walls, stunning vaulted ceilings, a beautiful crystal clear swimming pool,  relaxing daybeds in open-air walkways and a beautiful stone paved central courtyard.  Of course there is a restaurant, meeting rooms, and the beautiful natural countryside to explore, with wood fires available in each room for the rustic touch.

Do you really need air-conditioning when you can sip a drink or enjoy your lunch under the beautiful shady verandah?  And if you're travelling without kids, then this is the place to be also.

I could curl up on one of these daybeds below and have a quick snooze before dinner...

I would love to explore the Spanish countryside sometime (in fact I would love to take a tour of France, Italy, Spain and Portugal and wander the countryside roads). And to have as a retreat this wonderful place to come back to every day to enjoy a cocktail by the swimming pool. xo

I've had Spain on my mind lately. I've become more and more fond of the architecture and the culture over the years and can't wait to go back! This is a gorgeous spot! xx

What's Spanish for heaven?! I need to be there now and not in freezing London.
