Something in the post...

It's the small subtle things that make my day.

I was lucky enough to win a bottle of Ella Day fragrance when Latte Lisa ran a giveaway on her blog a few weeks ago and I was looking forward to receiving this gift.  The wait was worth it people!  Fresh, light and fun with a base of patchouli and hints of lemon and verbena, this fragrance doesn't disappoint.   Thank you to everyone at Ella by Elinros Lindal in Iceland & to Lisa of course.

It reminds me of Ursula Andress and Bridget Bardot... womanly, assured, fun and warm - like warm, balmy evenings in an elegant chiffon shift.

The Summer 2012 lookbook gives off the same vibe don't you think?  Elegant, simple shapes and crisp fabrics in a subtle palette of lemon, stone, pale blue and black.  Some favourite looks below - more images can be found on the Ella by Elinros Lindal website.

As I wrote previously about the brand, "...this fashion house has a wonderful Slow Fashion Movement ethos which really appeals to me.  The brand is all about creating something in a "thoughtful way, causing the least damage to the environment", "empowering women" and encouraging "every member of [their] team to maximise ones potential in creating something extraordinary"..."   A wonderful way to work in today's throwaway fashion don't you think?

It's the small things that make us happy, right? Congratulations on winning Lisa's giveaway, Helen! The thing that impressed me the most about this fashion house was the slow fashion movement it's based on. A brand with sound values is hard to find nowadays.
