Hope you enjoy these links I found this week -
'Valentino En Rose' - ph Cathleen Naundorf |
+ Absolutely love this - the exquisite work of photographer Cathleen Naundorf who has her work published in the book, 'Haute Couture: The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf'. If, like me, you value the handiwork, bespoke and old school craftsmanship above something re-mastered and digital, then this you will love. Cathleen has focussed on the archives of 6 fashion houses from Armani, Valentino, Lacroix, Chanel and Dior and using a large format camera with polaroid film gives the subject, haute couture gowns, that uniqueness and magic that is associated with the craft. + I love finding new e-magazines with wonderful decorating and interiors shots and tips don't you - here is a link to Llamas Valley found via Seen and Said.
+ Photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, with his use of colour and exciting compositions and stylized poses represents a wonderful era in fashion photography during 50's & 60's. His work has graced Vogue and Harpers Bazaar and now an exhibition of Blumenfeld's photographs opens at the Musee Nicephore Niepce, 28 quai des Messageries, Chalon sur Saone, France until September 16 - if only I was visiting for the day. Handpainted umbrealla by Greer Pester |
+ A few weeks ago, I was on hunt for an umbrella. One that could take me from day to night with effortless ease and a stylish shrug in any downpour. My search took me to department stores, boutiques, accessories outlets and beyond and finally I am now in possession of not one, but three new umbrellas! (One being a gift from Paris). If you have the same longing for a stylish, unique umbrella, Another Mag can help you with a shortlist here.
+ It's an obsession with chocolate that is really hard to quit! This luscious recipe for Flourless Chocolate Ricotta Cake might not help right? Oh dear.... via PineconeCamp.

+ And for all things french in Melbourne, I hope you have something wonderful in honour of Bastille day tomorrow 14th July. Perhaps you would like to sip some wine at the European on Spring Street, or sample a 5 course dinner menu at The Botanical, or even nibble on crepes for brunch at the top of Eureka Tower. Perhaps you take a more arty stance? I for one would love to visit the Napeoleon exhibition at the NGV on St Kilda Road, open from 5pm to midnight tomorrow night for a reduced price of $10. In an atmosphere surrounded with live entertainment, activities, tours and talks - crepes, cheeses and wines... what else could you want? Bonne fete.
